As we know, there are many activites that students do in a school. One of them is writing. The students almost do the activity everyday. They usually write some notes in ther accompanying blocknote that help them to memorize the lesson. Nevertheless, the students have a difficult time taking notes in class due to some factors, such as teacher’s hamdwriting readability, limited time of writing notes, and the students’ bad mood of writing.
Tecaher’s handwriting may cause a problem in term of readability for students when they are taking notes. For instance, the text which is written by teacher consists unusual abbreviations. The teacher writes a word that has a different meaning with the students, such as the word “P”. The students represent it as page. Yet, the teacher writes that word which stands for primary. Furthermore, the letters are part that influenced the level of readability. Sometimes the teacher writes a text in small connected letters. It makes the text bad. Therefore, the students cannot read it well.
The next difficulty that students may face is limited time. Teacher gives an adequate time to write because he should rush in giving the material. It makes the students confused. They cannot concentrate well and focus on hearinf or writing. Moreover, the teacher speaks and explains material very fast without giving a chance for student to write it down. Consequently, the students cannot keep up with material given.
Those factors which already mention above come from external. From the internal, students’ mood may distract the capability in writing. It is based on the students’ condition. To shiw that, when they are in a bad condition, such as sick, they will have a little bit power. They will get harder in writing. Next, they are lazy to write while they are sleepy. To add, the students’ mood may be broken up by stationary tools. It decreases the spirit and seriousness of students when a pen is out of ink suddenly.
From the explanation above, we know that students face some difficulties in taking notes. We can conclude that it is influenced by some factors, such as teacher’s handwriting readability, limited time of writing notes, and the students’ bad mood of writing.
